Commerce Club was inaugurated on 21st August, 2015 by several guests from Osmania University Prof. Akbar Ali Khan dean faculty of commerce Osmania University was the chief guest, and Prof. S.V. Satya Narayana, Head department of Commerce OU, Prof. V. Usha Kiran Director self finance courses, Department of Commerce O.U were guests of honour on this occasion.
Students actively participated in Ad – mad show, chart making, projects and commerce quiz almost every student of B.Com stream participated in either of the activities, their organizing & leadership skills were appreciated by the guests from Osmania University.
Post lunch there was guest lecture by K. Satyanarayana sir, President Emeritus, National HRD network Hyd chapter who is also a guest speaker at Rama Krishna Mutt, he spoke on “Employable skills for Commerce Graduates”.
A lecture on “Opportunities to commerce graduates” was given by Dr.G.V. Rao chartered accountant who is a Gunnies book of world record holder for holding many commerce degrees.
On 12th Dec. 2015 commerce lab was inaugurated, it was like a dream came true as the commerce lab gives lot of practical orientation to commerce students and was inaugurated by Mr. R. Hari babu, an entrepreneur and then he continued with a lecture where he focused on employability skills which includes domain knowledge & communication skills.
Under the Co-ordinatior’ ship of Sri T. Mohana Rao, Senior faculty member of Commerce, the Department of Commerce has started 30 hrs Tally’ certificate course with the collaboration of Tally India. 40 of our enthusiastic students have undergone this course. The Department is planning to conduct this course as a compulsory course for all the second year students in coming years.
On 21st November 2015 tally training program in collaboration with tally organization was inaugurated by Prof. K.V Achalapathi, Director, placement cell OU. He focused on the importance of computerized skills to commerce graduates and spoke on the strengths, weakness, opportunities & threats which every student should focus on. He also congratulated students who organized inaugural session.
Dept. of Commerce arranged an extension lecturer for final year students on “Shares and banking and investment” inviting Mr.Venkateswara Rao from Hyderabad Share markets who gave the tips on smart business and clever investment.
